4 officials are scheduled to testify in the impeachment hearings today.

They are Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, Jennifer Williams, Tim Morrison, and Kurt Volker. Follow along for updates all day. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Vindman and Williams directly listened in on the phone call at the center of the inquiry.

Volker and Morrison will give testimony showing how the phone call was just one data point in Trump's campaign to strongarm Ukraine into delivering political dirt. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Here's everyone you need to know who is testifying publicly in the inquiry.

In the second week of public testimony, at least nine government officials and diplomats are expected to testify. bit.ly/37jb4Qx
Williams, a State Department official detailed to Mike Pence's office who listened to Trump's July phone call with Zelesnky, told Congress she thought the conversation was "unusual" because it involved "what appeared to be a domestic political matter." bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Vindman, who also listened in on the call in which Trump pressured Zelensky to investigate the Bidens, said he was "concerned" by what he heard and that he found it "inappropriate."

He added that it was "a partisan play." bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Vindman drew comparison to Russia, saying "my act of expressing my concerns to the chain of command in an official and private channel would have severe personal and professional repercussions, and offering public testimony involving the president would surely cost me my life."
Vindman's testimony highlighted the pressure career foreign service officers are under as they testify against Trump.

"We are better than personal attacks," he added. This statement was noteworthy because it came in the midst of an onslaught of criticism. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Vindman blew a hole through Trump's claim that he cares about Ukrainian corruption. He said he told Trump to discuss corruption in Ukraine during an initial call he made to Zelensky in April.

But Trump ignored those talking points. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Vindman zeroed in on why Trump's "request" to Zelensky was a "demand."

"The culture I come from, the military culture, when a senior asks you to do something, even if it's polite and pleasant, it's not to be taken as a request, it's to be taken as an order," he said.
Vindman corrected ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes after Nunes called him "Mr. Vindman."

"Lieutenant Colonel Vindman, please."

It was quite a moment. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Republicans alluded to an absurd and baseless allegation that Vindman, a Purple Heart recipient, has dual loyalty to the US and Ukraine. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Former national security adviser John Bolton has been featured prominently in the hearing despite the fact that he hasn't yet testified.

He was a key figure in a July 10 meeting with Ukrainian officials in the White House. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Jim Jordan pulled no punches while questioning Vindman. He started by accusing Vindman of having bad judgment and of leaking sensitive information to the media.

"I never did, I never would, and that is preposterous that I would do that," Vindman said. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
The White House weighed in on Vindman via tweet while he was in the middle of testifying.

Some Democratic lawmakers said the White House's tweet could amount to attempted witness intimidation, and Trump fielded similar accusations last week. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Jennifer Williams responded to Trump's attacks against her.

"Miss Williams, are you a Never Trumper?" Rep. Himes asked. "I'm not sure I know an official definition of a Never Trumper," she said, before saying she "would not" describe herself that way. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Vindman drew applause from the hearing room.

America "is the country that I have served and defended and all of my brothers have served, and here, right matters." bit.ly/2pvzpBG
The Republican strategy throughout the public impeachment hearings has put less focus on substance and more focus on throwing verbal grenades at Trump's critics.

And Rep. John Ratcliffe has established himself as one of Trump's main attack dog so far. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
He pulled out a large stack of papers that he said were printed depositions of the witness testimonies in the impeachment inquiry so far.

Ratcliffe tried to make the point that there was no mention of bribery on the part of Trump's conduct toward Ukraine. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Kurt Volker's statement had some irregularities at odds with documentary evidence. Volker said he didn't know until recently that "Burisma" was linked to Biden.

But in July, he said Hunter Biden's involvement with Burisma might've influenced the then-VP. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
Volker significantly altered his public testimony compared to what he told lawmakers before.

When he first testified, he denied that any investigations into Biden, Burisma, or the 2016 election were raised during a July White House meeting. bit.ly/2pvzpBG
As Tuesday's testimonies come to a close, lawmakers prepare for Wednesday with Gordon Sondland, Laura Cooper, and David Hale appearing. bit.ly/2OpZD13
