THREAD: A challenge w/ writing publishable and readable pieces is that I can't riff on points that really, really, really piss (not a swear word growing up so not now either) me off. So after you read ⬇️come back for my vent. 1/
2/ Now re-read this thread I wrote before on Flynn. (I've since changed my mind because of the points that really, really, really pissed me off).
3/ So my previous reaction that Flynn either lied to FBI or lied when pleading guilty is true & as I said at time I get why he did it but he must accept consequences of that, much like those who engage in civil disobedience do--you may be justified but you have punishment due.
4/ BUT my take was based on the gov't having a good faith basis to bring charges against Flynn both for lying to FBI AND FARA charges against Flynn and son. And since all guilty pleas are tough bargains, I viewed it in that light. However, we NOW know OUR government did this:
5/ Plotted to interview Flynn in a way that might "catch" him in misstating content of telephone calls--and not material to any investigation so no crime. And that in actual convo w/ FBI, Flynn made clear he wasn't sure exactly of details but FBI modified 302s to make clear.
6/ Then to force a plea, prosecutors told Flynn they had authority to target his son. NOW, I originally thought (b/c I'm more of a law and order type/pro-gov't type OR WAS) shrug, prosecutors had something on his son, Flynn fell on sword to protect kid.
7/ BUT after judge tossed FARA case against Flynn's business partner AS A MATTER OF LAW no evidence to support GUILT, it was clear that prosecutors threatened Flynn's son with a non-crime to get Flynn to plead to a non-crime.
8/ And then, so confident in its ability to threaten Flynn without him having any recourse, the prosecutors had the gall to name Flynn, Jr. as a witness in the trial against Flynn's business partner, after Flynn refused to testify to what he said was a lie as the gov't demanded.
9/ And prosecutors then sent FBI to question Flynn's son, even though Flynn's son had an attorney. But then prosecutors didn't call Flynn's son--why put him on witness list other than to threaten Flynn: "That's a real nice kid you got there, a pitty if anything happened to him."
10/ Also, Flynn isn't the only one who signed the plea agreement--the gov't did too, attesting that no other promises, etc. etc., And gov't did this after pushing for Flynn's attorneys to file FARA and then using supposed-FARA crime to get SAME attorneys to negotiate plea.
11/ There's a lot more dirty stuff that @SidneyPowell1 details in her briefing, but targeting of Flynn Jr. on a non-crime which prosecutors doubled-downed on later, is the difference to me on normal hard-ball plea negotiations and outrageous prosecutorial misconduct.
@SidneyPowell1 12/12 So, we're seeing the same outrageous misconduct in Flynn's case that we saw in the FISA case--and just like that misconduct in the FISA case sucked me in, I've been sucked in with the Flynn case too. END.
