Adam Schiff is firing blank after blank. Gordon Sondland is being excruciatingly candid. Adam Schiff is coming across as desperate to put words into Sondland's mouth, and failing time and again. What a sorry performance on the part of Schiff.
I think Sondland has completely discombobulated the Democrats. On the one hand, Sondland is expressing loud frustration with Rudy Giuliani's involvement and White House's lack of cooperation in letting him have access to his records, on the other he's refusing to bend over.
I have developed a liking to Gordon Sondland. This is what a straight shooter sounds like. He calls it like he sees it -- nothing more, nothing less.
And now legal counsel for the Democrats tries to put 'Biden' into Sondland's mouth. Sondland doesn't bite, says, "I said Burisma, not Biden."
Gordon Sondland: "President Trump never told me that the aid was conditioned on any announcement of investigations. That was my own personal assessment."
Sondland's testimony once again demonstrates that truth is hurtful to Democrats' case for anything. What's indisputable is that what went on in this Ukraine imbroglio is highly contentious among highly intelligent and experienced people. But contentiousness is not impeachable.
Gordon Sondland: "A lot of hair were on fire, but no one said anything to us [three amigos]." He means the guys in the "regular channel" now seem to have had their noses out of joint, but no one ever raised any process issue about the "irregular channel." It's all retrospective.
Gordon Sondland: "I asked President Trump pointblank, "What do you want from Ukraine?" He said, "I want nothing. No quid pro quo. Just tell Zelensky to do the right thing." That's all I got from him."

The hearing is in recess and I want to take a moment to say something you won't hear me saying often. I am watching the hearing on @CBSNews. During recesses, there is ongoing discussion and commentary on CBS. To my great and pleasant surprise, the commentary is fair and balanced.
@CBSNews I can't help chuckling every time I hear Adam Schiff resumes a hearing session with: "First of all ... I want to recognize myself ... for five minutes."

@CBSNews @ScottAdamsSays I have to say Gordon Sondland is one of the shrewdest witnesses I have seen this season. He left them all delighted and exasperated. Democrats feel he was not accusatory enough, and Republicans feel he was not exculpatory enough. And yet, both sides are quoting him gleefully.

@CBSNews @ScottAdamsSays Gordon Sondland is a man completely comfortable in his skin. This guy has nothing to hide, and he is sharp as a knife. Just states his perspective and tells the truth precisely and accurately as best he can, and lets the chips fall where they may.
@CBSNews @ScottAdamsSays So we come to the end of another day of testimony. Adam Schiff is delivering a stem-winder on "corruption." Now he wants to impeach Trump for not using the word "corruption" in his call with Zelensky, and for recalling ambassador Yovanovitch, and assorted other things. Oh, well!
