@deniscdn @DarrylLeroux do you want to quantify that statement? I am Mi'kmaw Metis, I am from the East, we are in the bylaws and constitution of the Union of Nova Scotia Indians since the 70's, pretty well the same time the western Metis were being reborn.
The Other natives - the-les Metis- Publisher - Winnipeg-Manitoba Me´tis Federation Press- 1978 #Metis History - Until 1960's most Metis did not identify as Metis when graduating, they identified as French Canadians if they spoke French. Might want to look at that publisher.
Micmac News 1975 - constitution and bylaws - Metis in Nova Scotia.
Section 3.12 A Metis in UNSI - that gives them membership in the Union of Nova Scotia Indians, that gives them a voice that you will not say "cut it out" unless you have some proof of what you say?
Union of Nova Scotia Indian Society Act. - constitutions and bylaws are filed every year .
The People Who Own Themselves - Recognition of Metis Identity in Canada - Senate - YC28-0-411-12 - David Chartrand - families will eventually reclaim their Metis identity, as generations lose their status under the Indian Act over time. - anything to say on this ? @deniscdn
You going to tell David Chartrand to cut it out?
Randy Ranville - 23rd Issue Senate Report - Canada - Familes discover who they are and spend all day in the library researching their familes - you going to tell these families to cut it out ? - No? I didn't damn well think so..
Senate - 23 issue - Randall Ranville, Genealogist, Metis Cultural and Heritage Resource Centre Inc. - a lot of folks did not know they were Metis, they find out at a funeral or a wedding. #HYPOCRITES
Supreme Court of Nova Scotia › 2013 NSSC 434 (CanLII) - "and that there was a distinct Métis community in place before effective European control was established" - William Wicken
part 17 Daniels - no consensus on who is metis. - Maybe you can tell the courts to also "cut it out" -- ughh
"Negotiating an Identity-Métis Political Organizations, the Canadian Government, and Competing Concepts of Aboriginality-Joe Sawchuk- American Indian Quarterly Vol. 25, No. 1 (Winter, 2001), pp. 73-92-Published by- University of Nebraska Press
So once again , you care to discuss that "cut it out " statement further??
Darryl saying Mathew Mius is not Mi'kmaq, when he is an actual signatory. 🙄
Mathew's brother Francis - My 7th g grandfathers brothers, that D'azit sibling William Wicken said married Marie and lived in the Mi'kmaw community of LeHave.
I have Indigenous blood in me, this is my historical homeland, I have never lived anywhere else. The only time my family did not live here, was when forced through deportation and when they were allowed, they came back home. Where else should I call home? @deniscdn
@deniscdn Something is sure being distorted alright and it is not the people. @deniscdn -- twisted and distorted half facts . I'll stop there .. 🤨
