Jose Carlos Grubisich, the former CEO of Brazil petrochemical company Braskem, was indicted for his role in the massive, international #Odebrecht bribery & money laundering scandal.

Approx $250 million was diverted from Braskem to a slush fund that was used to pay bribes to political parties, government officials, and others in Brazil in exchange for business.
Grubisich was also on Braksem’s board of directors and also held several different positions at Odebrecht.
Looks like other Braksem execs were also involved, so more arrests may come. They also used bank accounts in New York and Florida to divert money into the bribe slush fund.

Part of the bribes went to Brazilian governement officials in exchange for favorable pricing in contracts with Petrobras, Brazil’s state-owned oil company. 
Grubisich also cooked the books of Braskem and signed false SEC certifications while serving as their CEO.
Just a reminder that even former Presidents have been charged in this massive scandal and there are investigations going on in 29 countries.
