You know what conspiracy theories are good for? Keeping populations in the dark as to what’s actually happening so they can’t mobilize and are susceptible to appeals to act against their own interests, leaving the conspiracy theorists free to consolidate power and wealth.
And you know what the antidote to conspiracy theories is? Education and communication. It’s no surprise that parties benefiting from conspiracy theories adamantly oppose funding for education and indoctrinate followers to think different minds are evil and untrustworthy.
This Republican Party and Trumpists are a result of a conspiracy theory that has grown for decades and has ensnared so many Americans in a cult that makes less and less sense everyday, but any attempt to confront it leads to crisis and throes of violent outbursts.
The problem is that this cult is acting against the interest of the people and has become aligned with a finely-tuned effort from Russia to use the conspiracy theory to change the world in Putin’s illiberal favor. It’s a certified death cult and we have to escape.
The Russian movement aligns with the American in that it’s a nationalistic, white identity cult cemented on a globalist conspiracy theory. They’re incredibly similar and have found common purpose. What we’re seeing every day in this inquiry, Nunes’ nonsense, is that story.
It’s not a coincidence that the cult of Trump sees everything through a pro-Russian lens or that the enemies are always anti-Putin states or leaders. This is a symbiotic infection and it runs so deep that most people aren’t even aware of it.
