I don’t know of any secular democratic country that would grant citizenship to refugees on the basis of their religion. Government specifically excludes Muslims. Why not change the constitution and become authoritarian first before doing this! (2/8) #BoycottNRC
The combined effect of NRC and CAB will be that Muslims who can’t prove themselves to be citizens will have no option to do anything, whereas, non-Muslims may use CAB to get citizenship. This is again legalized discrimination against the Muslims. (3/8) #BoycottNRC
And we don’t know how this will effect diplomatic relations with our neighbors and world powers. We are not a economic power like China, that everyone will turn a blind eye to whatever we do to the minorities inside the country. (4/8) #BoycottNRC
And the cost to conduct pan-India NRC will be unimaginably massive. US being one of the richest countries is struggling to conduct a proper census. We should think, is it in our best interests to waste so much money on NRC when other pressing issues are at hand? (5/8) #BoycottNRC
Poor people struggle a lot to meet their needs. Is it proper for the government to push their divisive agenda on the common man? If they are not included in the list, how can they appeal in tribunals and courts without money. (6/8) #BoycottNRC
What will happen to people who are not included in the list and cannot use CAB to citizenship? Will they be put in camps? What will happen to them? And majority of them will be Muslims, Tribals and other minorities. Government should answer this first. (7/8) #BoycottNRC
