This entire conspiracy theory is based on one simple thing: the timestamp/filesizes in the rar/zip files that show they were created at speeds only possible inside a network -- thus INSIDER must've of done it.
It's debunked by the simple fact that once a hackers breaks into a network, they are an insider. By definition.

The Mueller report even describes how the Russian hackers who broke into the DNC installed the WinRAR utility on the DNS computers in order to rar/zip up files from the inside.
I can't stress enough how freakin' obvious this is, and how deliberately clueless you must be to avoid the obvious. But that's what sustained conspiracy theories. Once you agree to ignore one simple fact, the rest of the theory starts to look plausible.
