1/5th of the way through the Anonymous book. No surprises so far. Anonymous says he/she remains anonymous because they don’t want their identity to be a part of the message. They note that the Federalist papers were published anonymously.
Interestingly a lot of the book so far is couched in the style of who we are, as Americans, what our democracy means, what the history is. What Teddy Roosevelt said about criticism of the presidency.
I don’t think Anonymous serves this theme by remaining anonymous.
Some non-surprises. Miller encourages the chaos because he thinks it serves them well to keep everyone in their toes. The staff encourages rallies because it keeps the president out of town, busy, makes him happy, and keeps him out of their hair.
I’m a registered Independant. I was raised in a Texas, with Evangelical friends. I have patients from every walk of American life, from hard right to the left, and I respect everyone’s view, even if I personally disagree, if it comes from integrity and principle.
There’s a nasty, self-serving, self-deluded component of anonymous that is layered in trying to save the republic, and it’s infuriating.
Was the NSC really taken aback by incompetency for months? You would think they would be used to government incompetency.
Trump confused Fiona Hill for a secretary. While many executive secretaries are razor sharp and make their boss way more competent than they appear...it still boggles the mind. politico.com/magazine/story…
Here is the heart of the matter, though (1 of 2)

In context this Cicero stuff falls flat. I’m a pragmatist (with some amoral ideas). If I lived in Stalinist Russia and my leader were like this, I would nod and say yes sir and ignore him except on the stuff that was likely to come back to me...but this is America.
Why even have the Enlightenment if we are to bend our ear to this crap.
And this....not surprising at all. Offensive to even write it. We know, anonymous. You aren’t protecting us from anything.
It’s a family company and in arrears whoever you are.
Oh good lord we knew this was true just...@MollyJongFast help
Ah anonymous is another political animal apparently deluded by the idea that there was a reasonable political solution to the right of Obamacare. Guess what...Obama put forth Romneycare plus ideas from the Heritage Foundation.
I don’t judge these ideas right or left, just be politically flexible. You would have won 2018 if your aides and you had any understanding of this issue.
Now he/she is diving into sexism by the president and I can’t even.
Live with it and own it, anonymous.
This schtick gets old real quick. “Oh the president has boring authoritarian tendencies and no interest in the rule of law, and loves chaos? How alarming. Let’s help him manage that.”
Your failure isn’t that you weren’t able to manage it. The failure is that you tried, and that even now you are not willing to give a name to your misguided attempts.
Now comes the chapter about how Trump isn’t *really* a republican or a conservative. (No s*^t and f^*k you anonymous)
Knee-slapping isn’t exactly the phrase I had in mind.
Halfway through. Now this so called fiscal conservative who works in the *trump administration* is lecturing us about tariffs. Gonna to have to take a break.
I mean this guy has all the insufferable priggishness of the Never Trumpers without the self reflection or mea culpas. If I were his mirror, I would smack him.
The SEAL responsible for all this knifed his chain of command on television this morning. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
Ugh I should finish this book.
This is not a metaphor. This is incoherent. And you consider yourself a guardrail.
*imagines the GOP covered with coffins somehow nailed onto it*
How did I miss all these fascinating tomes. 🙄
On this one I don’t blame Trump. You’ve been working with him for more than two years. You know exactly what he is and how he thinks and acts.
Do not show him stuff you don’t want to share.
He is a king, not a prime minister, and should be treated like one, just to let us survive the next year (Or five 🤨)
Ugh
King George only wished he were so unconstrained.
Even Mitch McConnell would not be so bold about activist judges.
Trump supporters wanted a federalist but he’s really a republican.
