Make radical changes to our politics and economics to ensure survival.

OR

Watch radical changes to our land and oceans guarantee extinction.
Did I say 'ensure'?! I mean 'try to ensure'.

Keep forgetting about that damn global dimming.

Is @fragmansixty9 correct? He has a fair bit of peer-reviewed science to back him up. And I have nothing that I consider very convincing to show he is wrong...

governments are cleaning up air pollution faster than the IPCC and most climate modellers have assumed..Lower pollution is better for crops & public health. But aerosols..reflect sunlight. This shield of aerosols has kept the planet cooler, possibly by as much as 0.7 °C globally'

There is a lot of confusion about the concept of good in #economics. While thinking of goods as products (or services) is an easy shorthand, it doesn't quite capture economic reality. And it induces logical mistakes and outright errors. Economics is not primarily about physical
reality, but about the use of it from the perspective of human wants. In other words, it matters little whether a thing is a thing. What matters is if that thing can be used toward some valued end, and then if this use is an economizing use. In other words, what makes a good a

It was easy to be outraged by the shameful comments one MP made about EU citizens in Parliament today. But there is actually much more reason to be outraged about the release and content of this policy paper and I hope you will take a moment to read this thread too! ⬇️ 1/
In a nutshell, the policy paper does what I expected it to do: limit our rights further should there be #NoDeal. This was predictable, but it doesn't make it easier to bear. theguardian.com/politics/2018/… 2/
