WHO IS CHIEF RABBI EPHRAIM MIRVIS?
1. Today he was the latest prominent "leader" of the "Jewish community" to indulge in attacks on the Labour Party and Jeremy Corbyn.
The question is simply whether or not Mirvis is someone in a position to be moralising to the nation?

2. First of all we'll consider his politicw. It's clear from this brown nosing of Johnson where Mirvis's political sympathies lie. Johnson apart from being a serial liar, also has quite a lengthy list of racist statements on his record. None of these seem to bother the Rabbi.
3. Some folks visit battlefields, or war museums on their holidays. Mirvis apparently likes to get in the odd war criminal. If Corbyn was pictured grinning with a man with as much blood on his hands as Netenyahu we can well imagine the uproar.
4. Mirvis just doesn't visit war criminals, he - with some rhetorical crocodile tears in the small print - condones war crimes. Here he is grinning about a war that took well over 1,000 Palestinian civilian lives, including 500+ children.
5. Another area that Mirvis will not see eye to eye with Corbyn led Labour is arm sales to Israel. As we can see here Mirvis is an enthusiast for arm sales to his favourite rogue state. Labour policy is to put an end to arm sales to Israel.
6. So moral arbitrar Mirvis is (i) politically to the right and thus a natural Lab opponent, (ii) brown noses a bona fide racist in Johnson, (iii) grins with war crims, and (iv) opposes Labours arms embargo on Israel.

7. What does it say about our political & media culture that this moral pygmy is being elevated to some sort of national moral arbitrar? Nothing flattering.

8. Id suggest that the small problem of AS in Labour doesn't warrant Mirvis's po-faced hysteria, nor was it the motive for his intervention.
It's more likely to be a reflect his politics & his partisan relationship with Israel.
