Do yourself a favor, wash a glass jar, any jar, even a pickle jar. Then rinse it with hot water for 15min. Let the jar cool but not dry. Pour in some isopropyl alcohol, cap the jar and shake it. Pour out the alcohol and let the cap and lid dry upside down.
You now have a sterile, chemical free container to do some sample collecting in. Wear some rubber gloves and a respirator and use a disposable, clean utensil to collect some of the black particles. You will need enough to see.
