the NeverTrump Republican said he was interested. Called Simpson back and said Free Beacon would hire Fusion—my guess is the NeverTrumper Simpson called was Bill Kristol, who then put Simpson in touch with the outlet run by his son-in-law, Matthew Continetti...
Fusion’s work only was on Trump, contrary to WFB’s statement admitting they retained Fusion thru January 2017:

Simpson insists Fusion was repping Steele’s “unidentified client.” The client? Putin-tied oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

That means, in 2016, as Fusion accused Trump of being a Russian shill, Fusion was shilling for not one but TWO Russian tycoons in trouble with the U.S. government.
Fusion also was lobbying for Prevezon, a company owned by a Russian charged with money-laundering here. But it was just happenstance, Simpson claimed. “As with the Deripaska case, the coincidence of two work streams coming together would fuel wild conspiracy theories.” Ah.

1. It is important to remember Mueller acts as the Deep State Fix-It man. His worth to the DS is his ability to act as a wall between the facilitators, their nefarious actions, and the wheels of justice.
