1/ Just found the online exhibit at Museum of Lodz Jews, so posting a few pics to lure you to visit them: lodzjews.org. Here ghetto administrator Hans Biebow out for a stroll in the "market" where starving people are trying to survive by selling off household goods.
2/ Lodz ghetto: Hans Biebow examines some books a ghetto resident is trying to sell, and later some neckties.
3/ Ghetto residents worked in factories making clothes and shoes for military (and other items). Here some workers are in the fabric room at the start of production. Lodz had been a center of the textile industry before the war.
4/ Lodz ghetto: two images of children working with shoe or boot parts in the shoe factory.
5/ Lodz ghetto: 2 pics from the carpet weaving plant.
6/ Lodz ghetto: 2 pics from straw-weaving/basket plant, "Resort Słomiany."
