1/ In connection with 38 @_Stolpersteine_ being laid today in Burgwedel, I'm posting Nuremberg doc NO-4665, a letter to Himmler from E. Hilgenfeldt (NSDAP Welfare office) with concerns re visit to home for babies of "Eastern workers" (pic: slave laborers from occupied lands). 
@_Stolpersteine_ 2/ Author says: "all of the babies were undernourished. . 1/2 liter milk and 1+1/2 cubes sugar per day. . .with this ration the babies must perish within a few months. . .I was informed this agreement exists concerning the raising of these babies. . ."
@_Stolpersteine_ 3/ Author didn't know these homes were set up for infants of "Ostarbeiter" to be taken away and allowed to starve to death. Parents were "racially examined" if pregnancy discovered. Good results=baby sent away for adoption. Neg results=baby put in "Kinder-Pflegeanstalt" to die.
@_Stolpersteine_ 4/ The writer asks Himmler to make a decision: either feed babies (as future slaves) or kill them: "Either one does not wish that they remain alive - then one should not let them starve to death slowly AND TAKE AWAY SO MANY LITERS OF MILK FROM THE GENERAL FOOD SUPPLY. . ."
@_Stolpersteine_ 5/ This unusually outspoken man writes re killing infants: "There are means by which this can be accomplished without torture and pain. Or one intends to raise these chidren to utilize them later on as labor. In this case they must be fed."
@_Stolpersteine_ 6/ Here he asks Himmler "to make a principle decision" as a 2nd children's home will open as this one is "overcrowded with 62 babies at present" (Spital am Pyrhn, rural Austria). Total # of these places not known to me, likely quite high.
