On this day in 2008, CPT Rob Yllescas, the commander of 6-4 CAV at COP Keating who was targeted for assassination by insurgents with an IED, succumbed to his wounds and died.
Yllescas left behind his widow, Dena, and two daughters, Julia and Eva.
You may have read about Julia earlier this year when a photographer edited an image of her late father into her senior photos.

At the feel of feather-light touches to his hair, Hank closed his eyes and took in a quick breath. He tensed, both in excited and worried anticipation, at the cold press of lips to his neck.
He couldn't be sure, of course, since it was coming from behind, but his guess was confirmed at the sound of shoes tapping in a landing on the pavement. Fingers gliding down to his shoulder. Connor always had a flair for the dramatic, and they hadn't seen each other in weeks.
He WOULD choose to fly down and surprise him on a dark street, rather than just, you know. Coming to Hank's house like a normal person. Not that Connor was normal in any sense of the word.

Not that he minded one bit.

On the 25th of February 1994 (15th day of the holy month of fasting for Moslems), Baruch Goldstein committed the massacre of the Ibrahimi Mosque in #Hebron during dawn prayers with the help of the Israeli occupation army.
Important points concerning the massacre:
1- Baruch Goldstein opened fire on a group of Palestinian worshippers with the full cooperation of the Israeli occupation army whuo did not expect him to be killed inside the mosque.

My mum told me the most harrowing story yesterday, about how a favourite customer of hers came to visit her here in Lagos, 3 weeks after he died in the east.

He visited not just her, but a neighbour he's friend with, down the road. Same day.

I'm still shook men.
So I went to see my mum yesterday and my dad was saying, "won't you tell her of the dead man who came to visit you?"

Me I was just wait, what's going on?

Na so mumsie started her story. A regular of hers, who she hadn't seen in a few months, came to eat fist week of December.
My mum has this thing where she knows what her regulars like, no matter how long ago they came to eat.

So after greeting this man, Chris, she served him his regular food. My elder brother, who lives across the road from her shop, and also knows the man, came around.
