Scientists who advance their field are not exempt from being good people. Their contributions don't elevate them from criticism for how they mistreated people. They are NOT heroes. They are people who made contributions that deserve praise, but lived lives that warrant criticism.
Thinking that criticismis "erasing contributions" is complete bs. No one can erase their advancements. They're forever written in the books. But so is the way they lived their lives, and it is in fact *necessary* to criticize them so we can advance as *human beings* today.
