This is how truth blurs seamless into propaganda...

Yes, this is an absolutely real photo of Boris Johnson and his entourage walking briskly past a homeless person while ignoring them.

But it didn't happen today...
The photo was actually taken in 2013 when Boris Johnson was Mayor of London.

Does that make it acceptable?

No, not at all.

But does it colour the picture?

It adds nuance and context, at least.

Voters have a range of concerns when it comes to the Tories.

But when it comes to Labour, there's remarkable unanimity. With the exception of Labour Remainers, every other voter group (including Labour Leavers) see Jeremy Corbyn becoming Prime Minister as the number one concern!
This ties in directly with what I was saying the other day: Jeremy Corbyn is the ultimate Marmite politician.

He's adored by his supporters, loathed by everyone else.

Trouble is, the first group isn't and will *never* be big enough to win Labour a general election majority.
Is it fair? Irrelevant.
Does the media give him a hard time? Irrelevant.
Have people misunderstood him? Irrelevant.

In the large volumes we're talking about to swing a general election, there will never be a realistic way of persuading millions of voters to view him differently.

The LibDems are still being pilloried for having gone into coalition with the Tories.

That may or may not be fair, but it does have one consequence: it makes it easier for Tory Remainers to vote LibDem tactically if situation demands it.

(They won't vote tactically for Labour.)
Corbyn is anathema to Tory voters. Add in Labour's weaker stance on remaining in the EU, it's clear it will be impossible for Labour to attract many Tory voters, even if that's "tactically correct". People will hold their nose, but not that much. (Don't blame me, blame reality!)
So Labour are already pretty much maxed out in areas where there is a sizeable Tory vote. The LibDems on the other hand could easily pick up more if the tactical voting message gets through.
