This is how truth blurs seamless into propaganda...

Yes, this is an absolutely real photo of Boris Johnson and his entourage walking briskly past a homeless person while ignoring them.

But it didn't happen today...
The photo was actually taken in 2013 when Boris Johnson was Mayor of London.

Does that make it acceptable?

No, not at all.

But does it colour the picture?

It adds nuance and context, at least.

Back in 2013, benefits had not yet started being capped...

Back in 2013, the number of people sleeping rough was barely half what it is today.

Back in 2013, a less sycophantic Sun newspaper had not yet revealed to the world an important Bullingdon Club initiation ritual:

"It has been claimed anyone wanting to join the club has to burn a £50 note in front of a beggar"

(BJ was a member.)

And finally, back in 2013, we weren't less than a week away from locking in Boris Johnson as PM for a full 5 years.

So the original post tried to make new news out of an old incident. (= propaganda)

But it also let us shine a useful spotlight on the conduct of BJ & the Tories!
