If you're helping with canvassing on the doorstep, remember that persuading voters to vote for *any* non-Tory is a "win".

If you're failing to enthuse them sufficiently to vote for *your* party, can you maybe make lemonade from the lemons by steering them away from the Tories?
For instance, if you're going door to door for Labour and you find yourself talking to someone torn between the Tories and the Brexit Party, why not take a minute to nudge them towards the latter. ("To be honest, if you want to be sure about Brexit, the BP's your best bet.")
The Brexit Party's not going to win seats. So there's no danger. But every single hesitant voter you can direct away from the Tories towards any other party (whether on your side of the Brexit divide, or the other) helps!

Tactical voting isn't as simple as "vote for the party in second place".

Many seats need 30%+ of voters to vote tactically to beat the Tories. Huge numbers! Difficult but not impossible.

But we can't ignore the Meatloaf problem. ("I'd do anything for love, but I won't do that."
Tory Remainers won't vote for Labour, no matter what. (It's a waste of time moaning about it - live with it!)

But many *would* vote LibDem as a last ditch option to stop Boris Johnson's brand of Brexit.

Why? LD politics are "closer" than Labour's, no Corbyn, past coalition.
So in seats with big Tory numbers the canny tactical vote is the LibDems because they have more potential voters to draw from.

Say...
Tory 45%
Labour 30%
LibDems 22%

Labour can persuade up to 22% of voters (need 15%+)
LD can persuade up to 75% of voters (need 23%+)

The 2017 GE result is possibly the least useful predictor of this election there's ever been. Might as well try and read tea leaves. Since then...
A) Brexit has become very real and very close
B) Labour has sat on the fence
C) Corbyn's popularity has plummeted further
D) Brexit Party has entered the picture
E) LibDems have changed to a stronger Remain stance
F) LibDems cleaned up in the European Elections, proving there is strong willingness to vote tactically
G) Two more years of Tory austerity and stagnation
H) NHS in its worst ever condition
I) Labour antisemitism scandal has grown and grown
J) Boris Johnson is *not* Theresa May
K) Prorogation, Supreme Court battles and other scary anti-democratic moves have become "acceptable" practice
L) LibDem local election surge

#Labour NEC members Jim Kennedy and @Yasmine_Dar claim never to have received any apps for selection from Bassetlaw members. Quickly U-turned when presented with irrefutable evidence of the Council Leader’s application. This is corruption & needs investigating urgently @UKLabour
I’m aware of at least three other #Bassetlaw members who applied. What happened to their applications? How can the selection process be allowed to proceed if legitimate applications have not been considered? How many other selections have been affected? @labourlist @siennamarla

#AntiSemitism emerges strongly when a civilization is in decline. It's like clockwork. This is not new—we've been seeing it for 2,000 years. We each need to ask ourselves how we may have contributed to our own self-destruction, and make the radical choice to love our neighbor.
The reason for this emergence is that when a culture is in decline, from fear, citizens refuse to look at their own contribution, and therefore must externally displace blame. Seeing it in almost every tweet about this evil shooting. Germany didn't get there in a vacuum; nor we.
Every case of Jew-hatred we see, from Charlottesville to Pittsburgh, is a symptom of our crumbling demise. It knows no political party; this hatred is systemic and murderous and we don't fight it with more rage. We fight it with love—getting in each other's lives in radical love.
