The same society that grieves Over the death of raped and murdered women and girls, then cheers when the rapists are extrajudicially killed.

The same society that grieves over the bodies of raped and murderers women and children, then supports honor killing of women.

The same society that grieves over the bodies of raped and murderers women and girls, supports the execution of future women through sex selective abortions.

And this society doesn’t understand the hypocrisy of using retribution as justice.

The same society which defends rapists on the streets (like ram Rahim and asaram) if they’re are powerful of self professed men of religion, now celebrates the execution of rapists before a trial, before dna testing, before testimony and procedure laid down by law.

Then this society says “we live in a lawless country”. When they have supported and celebrated the lawlessness.

We HAVE to be better than monsters without a moral compass. We can’t be the same as them. We have to be better!!

And the real question that is bothering me why do Indians only care about women and girls when we are killed, burned, hanged?

What about giving us our dignity and grieving for what we face when we are alive? What’s the point of weeping over our dead bodies? It’s too late then.

Instead of crying over our charred remains how about just not stalking us? How about not harassing us in public transport? How about not harassing us at workplaces? How about giving us our personal space in public and private? How about not beating us when we are your wives?

How about not planning to rape us with your friends? How about not shooting at us when we drive our cars? How about just leaving us alone to live in peace?

What’s the point of weeping for us when we’re dead? To make yourself feel better?
