Thinking cap here: the chance that McKinsey will sue Pete for talking about his work is less than zero, but even if they did, Pete is being funded by the country's richest corporate interests. I'm sure they'll help him scrap together some coins to pay for lawyers:
"I can't talk about my work at McKinsey because of that darned NDA" is the new "I can't release my tax returns because of that darned IRS audit."
Also, Pete could talk about the work he did at McKinsey in a way that provides responsible disclosure to voters who have a right to know without violating the confidentiality of specific McKinsey clients or revealing their sensitive secrets. It's a blatantly contrived excuse.
