Sorry I am WRONG. Mandelson was in cabinet as a lord not that long ago. But @ZacGoldsmith also going to lords and will attend cabinet in his green job. So the lords are suddenly back in government in number.
And Adonis was also in Cabinet for a year under Gordon Brown. So I guess @BorisJohnson is no more an opponent of representative democracy than the last Labour government. It’s been a long week

In 2019, 6.1 million people signed a petition to revoke Article 50 & remain in the EU.

It's the largest parliamentary petition in UK history.

A Lib Dem govt would recognise this by revoking Article 50 & retaining our EU membership - allowing us to finally move on from Brexit.
Lib Dems support the right of Gibraltarians to remain in the EU, and will allow EU nationals who have lived in the UK for 5 years or more to stand for office and vote in UK elections and referendums.
Lib Dems will invest £130 billion in infrastructure - for transport, energy, schools, hospitals and homes for all regions of the UK.

They will also introduce Skills Wallets worth £10,000 for every individual to enable lifelong learning and development.

Ready to go at Court of Session as legal challenge to shutting Parliament speeds through Scottish courts. I’ll be over tweeting till 3.30! 💪
Actual queues down the hall for the delayed full hearing - now upgraded to Court 9 due to larger capacity. Would say towards 100 people here - & pro-EU protestors outside.
Live cameras recording in the court room (perhaps first ever live feed at COS?). Court founded back in 1532 by an act of the old Scottish Parliament, Scotland’s highest civil court.

1/ I’d like to wibble on a bit about reporting, the BBC, and also take a pop at HM Opposition as well. Partly because of this from BBC’s Nick Robinson (HT @nickreeves9876) and partly because of listening to the Radio 2 news this morning...
2/ Nick Robinson tells us the referendum is over, so there are no longer two sides, no duty for the BBC to report rival views. Not sure I agree with that, but discussing whether democracy ends on a single vote is for another time.
3/ And I’m not proposing to look at whether the BBC reports both sides in other circumstances. Did they report both sides of debates on the Poll Tax, or the Iraq war, for example? Can’t remember...
