Let's talk about the fact that Democrats running for President are targeting 100% clean energy and EVs in the coming decades.

Meanwhile, Democrats in Congress have given away the bedrock policies we had on the books to get us there.

Watched all of Greta's powerful speech at the UN. As usual, she is right. Public opinion on climate policy matters. And the public wants the government to act on the climate crisis.

As @YaleClimateComm shows, the US public overwhelmingly supports action on climate change. Regardless of the question posed, across most of the US, there is very strong support for climate action. If you're not yet familiar with these maps, check them out!

@YaleClimateComm For example, in all but two states, a majority of the US public supports clean electricity standards. Yet, in many states we still lack basic support for renewable energy, even in sunny places like Florida!

Last episode of this season of GW2 launched. I outlined the episode (and the following season, which ended up changing our first conception of the final confrontation), but it's the first one I didn't actually do any direct story editing/writing for.
So, watching it was a really strange experience--I think they brought it in for a landing really well, and that last cutscene was better than anything I imagined for it. Just stunningly beautiful.
SPOILERS:

They played up the idea that Aurene's element as an Elder Dragon is light SO GORGEOUSLY and it's a perfect example of how creative constraints can sometimes lead things to be better than they would have otherwise.

Finally had a minute to read this. Lots of thoughts. First, I agree with most of it, and have been saying the same thing for years - that big splashy design firms exaggerate the value of their work re #climate, a lot. Thread.

But the tone is so busy being snarky about that, and about @joobilly's idea that no landscape architects understand movement politics, that it erases an enormous amount of good work and writing by others in the field - as if we don't exist. 2/n
I said the same thing about Waldheim's version of landscape urbanism. This is turning into a theme. Are you a white guy who wants to criticize landscape architecture for not being more relevant? Try looking at the work of women in this field! HELLOOOOOOOO out there! 3/n

First, where did Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan plan come from? (George Soros, perhaps? Foreign-funded radicals?) No. It came from Albertans. A volunteer panel led by @andrew_leach spoke w 1K residents in-person and heard from 25K+ online. 2/24
The panel also engaged with 350+ stakeholders and met w Aboriginal Peoples in three cities, and received hundreds of detailed submissions from NGOs, industry groups and others. 3/24

Cabinet submissions and decisions on #climate change in the first 18 months of the Howard Govt are notable for not mentioning the impacts or consequences of climate change at all....

Good questions @RedsforNamesake. If confronting #climate change is your priority, it is imperative to ramp up carbon-free energy asap.

1. NJ will now ramp up renewable energy from 13% in 2017 and 20% by 2020 under old RPS to 35% by 2025 & 50% by 2030. Impressive leadership.
2. To ensure that this new clean energy replaces fossil fuels and contributes to #climate mitigation goals, NJ's new laws also make payments to ensure the continued operation of 3 South Jersey nuclear reactors that currently supply 31% of the state's electricity consumption.
2. Cont.: That measure is essential and ensures that nearly all of the new clean energy growth over the next 12 years builds on top of the fossil-free foundation provided by the state's existing nuclear plants.
