So, let me see if I understand this..

- We have a government leader who believes he is above the law, and blatantly and flagrantly abuses his position. 1/17

- We have top cabinet officials who understand their job not as serving the country, but as serving the government leader.
- The leader's party sees their job as defending and protecting their leader, not as serving their constituents.2/17

- The leader of the ruling party has identified and named and criminalized a scapegoat minority, and allocated significant resources to identifying and persecuting them.3/17

- The members of the leader's party have repeatedly and enthusiastically abused, assaulted, and killed members of that scapegoat minority, and the leader has failed to condemn those actions.4/17

- Members of that scapegoat minority are being held in internment camps, frequently before verification of their legal status, and subject to abuse by government agents with no oversight.5/17

- Members of that scapegoat minority have died in federal custody, with no accountability by the agents in charge of them.6/17

- The party leader has recently stated that Jews are not merely a distinct religion but also a separate nationality, or ethnic identity, resurrecting the age old trope of divided loyalties.7/17

- The leader has repeatedly and frequently discounted and undermined the veracity of any news outlet that doesn't praise him, and has gone as far as denying press credentials at some events to established news outlets.8/17

- The leader lies about the contents of reports, investigations, and lawsuits, creating an alternative narrative that muddies reality, and demands that his cabinet and supporters do the same.9/17

- The leader collapses complex issues into simple slogans and has his supporters chant them back to him at rallies and other political events.10/17

- The leader has frequently mentioned the desire to be leader for life.

The German word for "leader" is Führer, for those who don't know.12/17

Literally every one of these happened in Germany under Hitler. In fact, those are among the hallmarks of an authoritarian regime.13/17

We have more immigrants in jails and prisons now than we did in 1943. And many are children. 14/17

WE ARE WELL ON OUR WAY TO AN AMERICAN VERSION OF NAZI GERMANY.

These are not early signs, these are LATE signs.

I am sick of people willfully not call it what it is.15/17

It is time to stop thinking that this will "all just go away" by itself.

It won't.

The best we can hope for is that we can force our government to self correct before someone else has to do it for us.

You know, like the Allies did for Germany.

Write to them. Daily.

ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE REPUBLICANS.

Show up for protests.
Push. Back.
