White progressives have been too lax in calling out racism+sexism on their side.

This 2016 thread in a prog/liberal FB group the night Bernie lost the SC primary still sticks out.

A progressive man wrote: "SC black citizens one more time had shown their mental chains." ⅛ 👇🏻
When a liberal woman in the group pushed back, the "progressive" man continued by comparing black voters to horses:

"The horse tied to a chair has the choice to run away but he chooses to stay cause he thinks he is tied to a chair stronger than his ..." 2/8
I tagged progressives who'd doubted my prior claims that I saw too many instances of racist/sexist comments by progs that went unchallenged by other progs online.

One replied to the chains/horse comment with: "Well (black voters) should've looked at (Hillary's) whole record." ⅜
I'm not saying "progressives may not be that different from the MAGA crowd." But I get why others (esp. a black woman) might feel that way if they've seen the same repeated instances of progressives making racist/sexist comments & other progs failing to take on & call it out. 4/8
And I'm sure we've all seen a million comments like this now, but yes, progressive sexism is real. Does this sound like a mere policy critique or disagreement on the issues to you?

I started keeping these screenshots for those who doubted claims of left racism/sexism. 5/8
That said, I think a lot of progressives who would otherwise call out sexism fail to do so when it's a woman they don't like and who they fear they'll elevate (& muddle their own criticisms of) if they admit sexism is an issue (Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, Liz Warren...). 6/8
Time to get over that. I've called out sexism against Sarah Palin, Hillary Clinton, Michele Bachman, Cindy Hyde-Smith, Taylor Swift, Tulsi Gabbard, Cynthia Nixon, et al.

Calling out sexism helps all women. Even women you deeply dislike deserve a level playing field w men. 7/8
