There were three moments that showed why Ozymandias' line about not being "a Republic serial villain" in the original comic was his most brilliant move of all.

Trieu and Keene do a victory lap way too soon, while Reeves' gloating comments get interrupted and dismissed.

@VanityFair Speaking of hate mail, a common theme is the assumption that I am -- as an angry email from Kansas City just said -- "an East Coast elitist" who "hates the heartland."

Believe it or not, professors aren't actually hatched at their universities. And I was born in Kansas City.
Also, if you’re going to try to drop the “East Coast elitists don’t get the heartland” line, maybe — maybe — don’t set it up with a preamble about how you were reading the latest issue of Vanity Fair with RuPaul on the cover and were shocked at what you found inside?

He's furious because Nadler let them get some sleep and, in doing so, robbed Republicans of a chance to complain that there had been a sneaky "midnight vote" to impeach Trump.
Yes, yes, the people complaining about the "rush to impeach" sincerely wanted to keep a marathon session going into the wee hours of the morning, yes, sure.

"Midnight vote" was queued up as the successor to "hearings in a basement" and they're just upset they have to scrap it.
Has a Republican complained that Democrats are holding the vote on Friday the 13th, and it's all a secret plot to make the poor president seem like a bad guy?

All right, I finally watched The Irishman.

A few small quibbles, but on the whole I really liked it.
It's definitely way too long and, honestly, I think Scorsese could've cut most of the first hour.

The efforts to de-age DeNiro and the others don't work (that scene where he assaults the grocer, yikes) and that's the part of the story we've seen a thousand times.
But the back end -- focusing on the decay and disillusionment of mafia figures -- was outstanding. It's like the coda from "GoodFellas" was stretched out to the logical end.

One thing I keep thinking about re: potential impeachment is that a Trump is in his first term. Seems like this will have a large effect on the politics. 1/
Clinton, Nixon, & Johnson were all lame ducks. Nixon and Clinton were barred by the 22nd amendment; Johnson—essentially a War Democrat put on the ticket for balance in 1864—had literally no chance of being nominated by the GOP in 1868. Trump, OTOH, is the presumptive GOP nominee.
This raises a serious question: as a purely political matter, would the Dems really want to remove a POTUS who, conditional on having the votes to remove, would be an absolute disaster candidate in ‘20?

Giving money is good and important, but the closer we get to election day, the less useful donating is, for a whole bunch of reasons. What campaigns need most in these final days is your time.
There's lots of stuff you can do remotely if you're not near a swing district—writing postcards, phonebanking, texting—and that stuff all helps. But if you can get out and knock on doors, that's even better.

The Airtel/K2 transaction is neither a merger nor acquisition. It's a brand endorsement arrangement, were K2 entered into agreement allowing @Airtel_Ug to use her Trademark, Brand name (K2 Telecom) & Resources to market @K2Telecom products & services to customers @UCC_Official
Under the Brand Endorsement Agreement, K2 customers will continue enjoying the same or similar services with a different code prefix (0708). The customer migration will be voluntary. Customers will exercise their contractual right to either move to Airtel or not.
