1/ Creating this thread as a brief synopsis to help people understand the situation in India. They're still dealing with a conflict between Muslims following Islam and Hindu's that goes back over 1K years. When Islam first came to South Asia an estimated 80M HIndu's were killed.
2/ In this process over 40,000 Hindu temples were destroyed. The Islamic faith has never been accepting of Hinduism. Hinduism is a polytheistic religion and according to Islam, any form of polytheism is seen to be one of the most, if not most severe offenses in the religion.
3/ In the Hadiths, which hardline Islamists & radicals follow (yes they exist in and on both sides of India) there is even a prophecy about Jihad of the Indian subcontinent known as Ghazwa-e-Hind.

4/ Inspite of this, in 1947 when India was partitioned, it created Pakistan, an Islamic State for Muslims which included West & East Pakistan. India, sandwiched in the middle was secular & gives special preference to Muslims. East Pakistan maintained a large HIndu population.
5/ The conflicts between those following Islam and how they feel towards HIndus did not however go away, it won’t for reasons detailed above, nor did the resentment Hindus feel towards Islam for it having almost destroyed their entire religion and cultural heritage.
6/ To make matters worse, In 1971, East Pakistan sought independence from West Pakistan starting the Bangladesh Liberation War. The Pakistan Army conducted Operation Searchlight to curb the movement in the process killing 2.4 million Hindus, most of the HIndus in East Pakistan
7/ It’s been 72 yrs since the partition & 48 yrs since the creation of Bangladesh. Religions tensions, regardless of Indias best efforts have never fully settled. Pakistan does their best to encourages it, see Kashmir, and illegal immigration from Bangladesh has further fueled it
8/ Today, Hindu’s are now being maligned around the world thanks to propaganda pushed by Pakistan & Muslim centric political parties within India itself like the Congress Party, TMC, AAP etc. pushing propaganda and lies about Hindus, Hindu Nationalism, BJP, RSS and Modi.
9/ Rival political parties lie about & malign Modi, solely to try to get back into power. The Congress Party has been rife with corruption throughout it’s history. Congress & their supporters are the primary source of the propaganda & they regularly falsely label Modi a fascist.
10/ We need to understand, the people of India firmly rejected the Congress Party. For two elections they have chosen Modi & the BJP. He won his last election by over 110 million votes in a landslide victory. We need to accept their choice & stop accepting & spreading propaganda.
11/ The left here has been willing & ready to spread the propaganda. I'm going to guess it's a financial motivation for Democrats to be aligned w/ the Congress Party. This propaganda hurts Indian Americans & HIndus. Our media's filled with HInduphobic tropes when addressing India
12/ India remains secular & will continue as such, but the illegal immigration problem has to be dealt with. India's not discriminating against Muslims, but they can't ignore millions of illegal immigrants, many of which are radicals, to appease muslims.The NRC in Assam is needed
13/ India recognizes surrounding countries, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Afghanistan are actively persecuting religious minorities. To make the path for these persecuted minorities easy, India created the CAB amendment. This changed nothing for Muslims as they're not persecuted.
14/ The CAB changed nothing for Muslims Citizens of India. It changed nothing for Muslims choosing to legally immigrate to India. All it was meant to do was make the process fast and easy for those escaping religious persecution with no where else to go.
15/ Why the riots over CAB. Because it was an opportunity for these rival political parties to create a problem for Modi and his government. It was entirely political in nature. These parties & supporters allowed & encourage the lie that muslims were being discriminated against.
16/ They did it on purpose and their supporters called for the protests knowing that it would be riots. The Congress Party even staged protests and Indian embassy’s around the world. The AAP party called for protests in Delhi which turned violent. Muslim Universities rioted.
17/ In West Bengal property was being destroyed & ruling TMC party did nothing to stop it. They wanted the riots and destruction to happen in an attempt to damage Modi and the BJP's reputation. Worst part is, the CAB didn’t even apply to West Bengal or Assam and they knew this.
18/ None of these riots needed to happen. These rival political parties & their supporters encouraged the protests and allowed the riots. Gross political chicanery to the detriment of the Indian people. They should be embarrassed by their actions.
19/ To put this in perspective for Americans, imagine millions of illegal immigrants pouring into Texas from Mexico & when the govt tried to do something about it these illegal immigrants riot & start destroying infrastructure & burning vehicles. What would the United States do?
20/ Now add to that all the treachery of Indian politics on top of it. It would be like the Republicans encouraging the riots because they wanted to make the Democrats look bad while Texas burned. What would America do? That is what India is dealing with.
21/ The people of India are struggling, but it’s not the Modi governments fault. It's the rival corrupt political parties who in order to regain power, are willing to do anything, even let their country burn. That is India Today. Don't add to their problems pushing propaganda
22/ Why did I create this tweet? Because I care. I hate propaganda, and I hate seeing my government maligning another nation for political reasons. It only hurts the people of that country. We need to change our foreign policy. Do we want to see India become the next Syria?
A simplified explanation of CAB, please read. Do not believe the propaganda, it is only being done because of corrupt political parties & their supporters. They're the ones instigating riots & protests in India under false pretenses and lying to the world
