Will be discussing this on @BBCr4today at 8:45. Lawyers - thoughts? Seems to me that there are a few issues which the appeal courts will have sometime to say about
Particularly whether it was right to elide a belief with the likely manifestations of that belief in deciding whether it satisfies the Grainger criteria (given this was a preliminary hearing only focussed on belief)
And whether it’s right that ‘lack of belief’ should satisfy the same test as a belief
And how this fits with the gay cake ‘compelled speech’ Supreme Court judgment

And also whether this is in line with Ngolo in the Court of Appeal which may have been more charitable to ‘absolutist’ belief judiciary.uk/wp-content/upl… 
Just a few thoughts. Overall I do think this potentially fits into the Macfarlane/Ladelle continuum so may end up being upheld (That an employee can discipline for misgendering if done in a way which undermines dignity) but perhaps not with this reasoning
