Talking about extremism to friends, family and even strangers gets you the weirdest responses. You hope and wish that the people you talk to are able to see that there's a problem with it. That there's a problem with calling each other's death just cause they think differently 1/
Speaking out against extremism puts a mark on the backs of the people who talk about it. Seems everyone joins together on the extremism even if they don't have the extremist views just cause they are deemed as Muslims, and have a fear about their beliefs and faith. 2/
If they don't follow what the sheiks are preaching about, or what the extremists are teaching, then they are judged for their actions and beliefs. So they join by some kind of peer pressure. And religion plays a huge role in that. 3/
People who are sent to Jail turn over a new leaf, and find the religion again to be turned to extremists. Thinking that they are gonna get rewarded and get salvation for their actions. If we were to tackle extremism, we have to root out the causes of it. But that's impossible. 4/
How do we tackle it? Extremism is everywhere in Maldives. At each constitution, there are people with extremist views. Each mosque has its own extremist community. Each island. Building their own society and state.
