1/ Tories are terrified of Scotland’s right to choose - because they know that when given the choice we’ll choose independence. Tories have no positive case for the union - so all they can do is attempt to deny democracy. It will not stand.
2/ The problem for the Tories is the longer they try to block democracy, the more they show the Westminster union is not one of equals and fuel support for independence. This response predictable - but also unsustainable and self defeating. Scotland will have the right to choose.
3/ @scotgov will set out our response and next steps before the end of this month - when we will also again ask @ScotParl to back Scotland’s right to choose our own future.

Such sad news. Alasdair Gray was one of Scotland’s literary giants, and a decent, principled human being. He’ll be remembered best for the masterpiece that is Lanark, but everything he wrote reflected his brilliance. Today, we mourn the loss of a genius, and think of his family.
Lanark will always be the book that first comes to mind when we think of Alasdair Gray - and it is without doubt a modern classic. However, I think my personal favourite from his incredible body of work is this one
While many of us will think of Alasdair Gray first and foremost as a brilliant and innovative writer, he was also a hugely talented artist. A true polymath, he was one of the brightest intellectual and creative lights Scotland has known in modern times. RIP

JK is our maknae so he’s simplest so adorable. Altho he’s adorable, he occasionally talks to me about serious things, and he surprises me with his honesty. I’m the one who learns more from him. He gives me opportunities to think [about things]. +

He’s truly, truly kind. J-Hope hyung’s kindness always gives us a feeling of comfort that “we will be okay”. No matter how tired we get, he makes us want to work hard again. He’s like the second pillar of BTS, and an invaluable existence to us. +

I often hear people mention they read straight through the @YDKJS book series. Some try to binge the books in a week or two, others will spread out that reading over several weeks or months.

Others will tell me they stalled out because it was too much overload to read.
And I've heard others "criticize" the books as being too in-depth and thus too much for beginners to handle, especially if they're trying to read completely through from scratch.

I want to share some thoughts on what I intended when I wrote the series as a 6 book split.
First of all, those 6 books are the sum total of 20+ years of my experience and learning with the language. It would be ridiculous for someone to try to read it straight through and download all that same knowledge over a few weeks. No human can effectively do that.

My handwriting's got worse in the meantime, doing so much more by keyboard and screen. It's still a physically different experience, more thoughtful, more physically creative. There's a different kind of feedback as you see your writing change.
"Why Social Movements Matter" was an unintentional book. @GeoffreyPleyers and the remarkable @lecollege_em at @FondationMSH made it possible for me to spend a month just researching and writing - which is an incredible privilege.
