With the exception of national polling—which, let's be real, is conducted largely by big media who hate him—Bernie Sanders is the frontrunner for the nomination.

Fundraising. Organization. Early states strength. Broadest, strongest coalition.

Joe Biden is a paper frontrunner.
Joe Biden doesn't have a "minority" coalition. He has a black coalition.

Bernie Sanders has Hispanic appeal, particularly younger Hispanics. Joe Biden doesn't have the coalition Hillary Clinton had and that which saved her from Bernie Sanders.

Biden can't sustain early losses.
I noted all of this already in this thread. Point being, Joe Biden has proven far weaker than Hillary Clinton and it's not just because the field is more crowded.

He doesn't have the loyalty levels she did. He sure as hell doesn't have the money.

These are the illogical arguments and contradictory positions you'll find yourself defending if you base your beliefs on knee-jerk opposition to someone.

Take Jennifer Rubin, e.g.

She's actually criticizing her own principles/positions B/C they were shared by Donald Trump.
The same is true if you knee-jerk support someone. You'll inevitably end up contradicting yourself and betraying principles.

And you'll sound very foolish.

Donald Trump is surrounded by enemies. The only friend he has is the American voter.

Why on Earth would he notify Democrats in Congress?

They backed the funding of Iran. Protestors have been killed and detained, and embassies have been attacked, with money @BarackObama sent.
@BarackObama Have you seen the ridiculous tweets Powers and other Obamaites sent before any of this transpired, right after the protestors?

This is all very foolish.

It's not one. He was a U.S. citizen. Soleimani led a terror org posing as legitimate military.

The U.S. Constitution doesn't forfeit due process B/C the police state deems a citizen an "enemy combatant."

That was for a jury to decide.

As those of you who've read my articles and my work online will already know I've been sticking my neck out by saying Bernie Sanders is going to win the Democratic Party 2020 primary since literally just before Christmas in 2016; and I began formally writing about it in late 2018
Of course this isn't prophecy, it's analysis and as such there's always going to be a chance that I've read the information and the mood of the public wrong, but watching 33,000 people try to cram into a freezing city park in Queens just to hear Bernie speak suggests otherwise.

I've written about #Sanders over the years and like most leftists, thought his politics were an essential prod to others in Congress. But there are details of his political history here that #Bernie should be pushing instead of hiding: like that he was a Harvard fellow.

#Sanders is often presented as s spendthrift, but what propelled #Bernie from 3-term mayor of tiny Burlington into the House was his fiscal responsibility. He literally was deemed the Republican Trotskyite while mayor for reeling in spending and building the city's coffers.

At the risk of sounding condescending I feel like there are 4 things we should ask in this primary.

1. What are your policies ?

2. Are you proposing them in good faith?

3. Will you be effective in implimenting them?

4. are you fit for office?

This needs unpacking...

So the hardest questions are 2-4.

Whether a politician is seen as operating in good faith is often tied to whether we think a politician is "authentic."

This shit is huuuuuuugely sexist and priveledges men over women.

The insistence by white male writers that there is a two-white-man race out there between Bernie & Beto is so deeply, stunningly misogynist, it takes my breath away.

How is it POSSIBLE that these folks missed the blue wave which was fundamentally female--driven by women voters?
Not just driven by women voters, but driven by women candidates. Left-leaning women candidates, including WOC who ousted long-time older white male incumbents like....Bernie Sanders.

How is anyone missing this fact?
It's a major reason why Sanders' numbers have plummeted.

allow me to explain:

first thing to realize is that compromise usually involved splitting the difference (e.g. arbitration -- if you've ever been privy, you know exactly what i mean).

next you need to understate that starting positions matter
now we come to the republicans..

they know to start out WAY to the right of anything sane

democrats, being slightly more reasonable tend to open with somthing they thing will win the other side over to their POV.

... it ... will ... not ....

so this happens.
after a few years of this (say since 1980) you end up with both parties being FAR to the right of anything that a rational person would consider CENTER

enter #bernie sanders and his populist, moderate policy positions like #medicareforall or raising the minimum wage
