Royal Family Christmas Traditions 🎄

• Since 1988, The Royal Family traditionally spends Christmas and New Year at Sandringham House.
• The Cambridges stay at their country home, Anmer Hall. It's not far from Sandringham.
• Queen Charlotte, consort of George III introduced Christmas Tree in the Royal Family, later Queen Victoria helped spread the custom in the county. The Queen and Members of her family, usually put the final touches on their Christmas tree.
• On Christmas Eve, The Royal Family lay out their presents on trestle tables and exchange their gifts at teatime.
The Queen and other members of The Royal Family attend the morning service on Christmas Day at St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham – Prince George and Princess Charlotte are rumoured to join the Cambridges this year.
• All members of The Royal Household receive Christmas presents from The Queen and she personally hands out presents to some members of The Royal Household at Buckingham Palace and at Windsor Castle.
• Each year, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh send around 750 Christmas Cards, which usually features a family photo. The card is signed 'Elizabeth R' and 'Philip' and features their official cyphers.
• The Queen also gives Christmas puddings to her staff – a tradition started by her Father. About 1500 Christmas puddings paid for by The Queen are distributed to staff throughout the Palaces, staff Each pudding is accompanied by a greeting card from The Queen and Prince Philip.
• The Queen donates to several charities in Windsor each Christmas. She also gives provide Christmas trees to several churches each year including Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral. Churches and schools in the Sandringham area also receive a tree from Her Majesty.
• Every Christmas Eve, William and Harry play a game of football with workers at the estate.

#Thread (a very long one) Yesterday, I visited the new Englewood STEM High School. Remember the close 4 high schools and open 1 high school deal #MRE hand-picked BOE (not to be confused w/ #MLL unelected BOE) approved in 2018 against community wishes? Yes, that one!
2/ Driving up to the school I saw bleachers, a football field, a track, & then the modern structure that houses 400+ freshman students. Nice.
3/ Tho, I couldn’t help but wonder where all of the sophomores/juniors/seniors who live in Englewood attend school especially bc #CPS is proposing to close Hope & the ongoing battle to resource & support Harper properly.

Like poultry farming,fish farming and other agribusinesses turn in high revenues when well executed and managed,goat farming is another lucrative business young graduate and educated unemployed youths should consider as many people are yet to realize the huge potentials.

#thread So this is another of my favorite local stories from Sendai, which I call "The Kids Find Bishamonten a Home." Intersection of military history, #japanesehistory, and folklore, in this story from the part of Sendai where I attended school.
Once upon a time, Date Masamune was laying siege to Kitanome Castle, in Miyagi County of Mutsu Province, where he was expanding his power northward from his original lands on the southern side of Mutsu.
The castle, held by Kurino Daizen, was shrouded in black fog and difficult to see, much less attack. Word had it that this was because Bishamonten, guardian deity of the castle, was protecting it.
