#Betelgeuse is so huge that astronomers can map its surface! This sequence shows 5 years of bright & dark churning on the red giant star (+ more great info in the thread below).
For context, Betelgeuse is about 1,000 times as wide as the Sun, and 100,000 times as wide as the Earth. eso.org/public/images/…

30 years ago, nobody knew for sure whether there were ANY planets around other stars. Today the number of confirmed planets just passed 4,000--and the variety out there is staggering. [a short thread]
A sweeping new paper (341 pages!) analyzes 426 nearby red dwarf stars. They seem to average at least 3 planets each, which translates to more than a trillion planets in the Milky Way, over 100 billion of them potentially habitable. arxiv.org/abs/1906.04644
The Gemini Planet Imager is surveying 531 bright, nearby stars. It takes direct images of their planets, showing that Jupiter-like planets are common around the types of stars that light up the night sky. news.berkeley.edu/2019/06/12/jup…

Touching down on a tiny asteroid is a delicate operation. It requires precision navigation using a set of special target markers (TM in this diagram).

Thread on the houses of Oak Park because the town isn't just Frank Lloyd Wright. There's some interesting architecture worth checking out. I'm gonna start with this 1929 Storybook-influenced home because who doesn't love a good turret?
The Charles H. Reeves House (1905) is an Arts & Crafts-style design by architects Lawrence Buck & Vernon Watson. I've been inside this one and it's absolutely gorgeous! It was included in the October 1908 issue of House Beautiful and the May 1909 issue of Ladies Home General.
Part of Oak Park's Gunderson Historic District, this craftsman style bungalow was constructed by developer Allen Gerberich & builder William A. Pillinger in 1917 when the south side of OP (back then just open prairie) was being developed & sold to people moving out of Chicago.

Betelgeuse is a MASSIVE star that is RED color because it is nearing the end of its life span. The bright red color symbolizes a blood sacrifice of Yeshua for us! The right shoulder signifies strength or triumph. In Orion, the right shoulder and hand signify “The Coming Branch.”

I was in panel discussion at Christ University today on 'What is India's identity? Is it changing?'

I told India's primary identity is Hindu identity. A large section of audience gasped with shock as though I said something offensive. Some felt I was 'extreme'!
The kind of setback Hindus have faced in the narrative war is unbelievable and most unfortunate. It's a pity that we can't even call ourselves Hindu unapologetically.

Don't know how many decades of work is necessary to change this. Most important war to win is narrative war.
The idea that we became a new nation in 1947 & our Constitution is what makes us plural is the regular BS that our kids are fed with.

Unless Hindus realise that India is plural because India is majority Hindu & not just because of a Constitution, we won't go anywhere.
