Over the years, I have read a thousand pieces on "declining trust in the media" and they all (a) seem to imagine a decline that's *way* more dramatic than the actual data and (b) ignore the increase in trust post-Trump
There's more than a hint of bothsidesism in the "declining media trust" narrative. The decline is *deeply* concentrated on the right.

Past 10 years, change in media trust:

Dems: +11

Republicans: -20

Independents: -3
But "We need to find ways to get people to trust us" and "We need to find ways to get conservatives to trust us" are different things!

That slight reframing changes both (a) how big you perceive the problem to be *and* (b) the kinds of things you'd do to try to fix it.
