Expertise and precision in examining different coloured liquids is an essential skill in the day-to-day life of a geneticist. 2/n

It's not enough to be proficient at the lab bench. Modern day geneticists must also spend many hours in front of the computer screen, checking that they remember the chemical structures of the building blocks of DNA. 6/n
There's more to being a geneticist than looking quizzically at flasks/tubes of different coloured liquids. A lot of the job is about looking quizzically at different types of fruit, as expertly demonstrated here. (Please don't try this at home, he is a trained professional.) 7/n
