If you're goal is to learn how to code in 2020, here's a thread of advice for you 👇🏻
Make it fun at first. Play with demos on @CodePen and @glitch and check out what code people are writing to create stuff on there.

Do some high quality, free tutorials, like @freeCodeCamp and @Codecademy.

Build some fun projects, things that appeal to you or games.
Here's a list of my favorite free resources for when you're just starting out:

@ga also has some free intro to code workshops if you want something instructor-led (both online and irl) generalassemb.ly/education?wher…
If you decide you like programming and want to pursue it as a career, there are three main learning paths. Self-directed learning, bootcamps, and computer science degrees. All have benefits and challenges. Make sure to evaluate all three and see which will be best for you.
My bias is towards high-quality bootcamps like @GA (as a CS dropout who was mostly self-taught who now teaches there). You'll have instructors there to learn from and career-relevant curriculum.

But self-teach for a bit first, having a first look at the concepts is a big leg up.
Focus on building projects, not just following along with tutorials. Problem-solving is the crux of programming, and moving outside of tutorials is critical to building those skills.

I have a whole series on that here: dev.to/aspittel/movin…
Build up good habits early: write clean code, add comments and documentation, and make your code modular. It is way easier to continue a good habit than break a bad one.
Also, get involved with the programming community. Check out #CodeNewbie on twitter, post on and read dev.to, find a meetup if you live in a city, maybe volunteer at a conference.
Programming is awesome, you can build cool things and have a very successful career because of it.

You got this! 🎉
omg your not you're 🤦‍♀️
