The New York Post has lost all credibility.

I don't know conservatives or liberals (and I know lots of both) who agree with the insane but consistent "Tough On Crime" evidence-free scaremongering they have been consistently ramping up lately

nypost.com/2019/12/31/why…
Examples?

"The start of the new decade couldn’t look better for New York’s criminal defendants, thanks to a slew of reforms and handouts that critics charge will return the city to the bad ol’ days"

The critics are the prosecutors and police union and you provide ZERO evidence
2. Discovery

"Among the controversial changes is a new state law that requires prosecutors to turn over their evidence — potentially including witnesses’ names and contact info — to the defense within 15 days of arraignment"

🐎💩
"Our greatest concern with the early turnover of discovery is the potential for witness intimidation,’’ a city prosecutor told The Post on Tuesday"

🐎💩 All other major cities have this, most other states as well, NO problems, never rescinded
3. The water carrying for "tough on crime" prosecutors is clear and obvious, the commitment to backing scare tactics with evidence NON EXISTENT, this is not JOURNALISM it is working for law enforcement

nypost.com/2019/12/31/why…
4. The claims on bail reform are 🦇💩crazy

Literally none of this is true (maybe the last part...but I will defend that in a few minutes too)

nypost.com/2019/12/31/why…
Evidence, sure, it isn't true...if someone commits a violent crime they are largely still subject to cash bail under NY"s bail reform @courtinnovation

courtinnovation.org/sites/default/…
In addition, they REFUSE to PROVIDE CONTEXT

Cash bail does NOT prohibit people accused of dangerous crimes from being released....Cash bail prevents POOR people accused of dangerous crimes from being released
And it is NOT TRUE, New York's Bail Reform does not extend to violent crimes (the basis for their scaremongering) @courtinnovation

courtinnovation.org/sites/default/…
@courtinnovation 5. Next they go to the "failure to appear" canard '

nypost.com/2019/12/31/why…
@courtinnovation Also false, bail reform does not increase failure to appear
@courtinnovation More evidence
@courtinnovation More evidence
@courtinnovation More evidence
@courtinnovation This unbelievable shilling for law enforcement interests is their conclusion:

nypost.com/2019/12/31/why…
@courtinnovation Your job as a journalist is to investigate and report the truth, not call your sources in the prosecutors office and police union and write stories designed to terrify New Yorker's

Shame on you New York Post, do the research, consult with EXPERTS not shills
