The first picture shows the "Special Areas" for Sydney's Warragamba drinking water catchment. These are areas required by NSW law to be managed with restricted public access to protect Sydney's drinking water quality. The second picture shows areas destroyed in these fires.
As you can see, impacts to the Warragamba Special Area are now effectively 100%. Decades of dedicated science and focused management by Sydney Catchment Authority (and now Water NSW) are out the window. Sydney's drinking water management has paid a big price for climate change.
