It's easier than ever to search for information on any topic. Unfortunately, it's just as easy for people to distribute garbage. Misinformation about health is never beneficial. It never helps anyone except those who seek to profit from it, and it's doing real harm. 2/5

Vaccination rates are dropping, people are seeking alternative care instead of seeing their doctor, and serious illnesses are being missed or left untreated (or improperly treated) until it's too late. People are dying. People are putting others at risk. 3/5

The more we encourage this nonsense, the greater the distrust in our experts, in people who have dedicated their lives to keeping us safe and healthy. Why are we doing this? We don't let untrained people fly our planes or build our homes. That would be dangerous and unwise. 4/5

Please talk to an MD with your health concerns. Please. Make choices based in evidence, for yourself and for everyone you come in contact with. Misinformation is doing incredible damage to individual and #publichealth. 5/5

Both @CaulfieldTim and @DrJenGunter already have excellent shows about health. Do us all a favour, @netflix, and make them both available in all markets. They're fantastic and, most importantly, based in fact.

@CaulfieldTim @DrJenGunter @netflix One point of clarity: if you *are* someone with a platform, please use it to amplify experts. It isn't wrong to speak out for #publichealth. That helps a lot, thank you! We don't have to know everything and it's appropriate to listen to people who are experts in their fields.
