Every time Twitter increases the user's ability to control how people engage with their content I hear "but Nazis and brands will get to do this, too" and it never actually seems that compelling to me.
If Nazis and brands put all their tweets in echo chamber lockdown it limits their visibility. So I don't think they'll do it all that often.

And an organic ratio often happens because someone says something thinking it'll be applauded or agreed with.
I agree, and the absence seems odd considering they have it as a filter level. I think perhaps the problem is nothing would stop someone from following, replying, and unfollowing? Which is an added step but a trivial one.

Perhaps an "Audience" filter that is inclusive of "Group" plus anybody who has followed you for an arbitrary length of time (3 days, a week, whatever).

I'm not sure what kind of performance hit it would have, checking that data for every so-coded tweet displayed, though.
Yeah, that's the thing. I don't know that they do and if they do I don't imagine it's stored in a fashion that is convenient to pull as they're loading tweets.
