1 more thought on "the othering' of people for today. This is probably the single worst effect of Fear Capitalism- whose profit motive is built upon the "othering" model. From media personalities like Hannity, to the campaign industry, to the rising number of youtube provocateurs
Fear Capitalists are making money by driving their audiences crazy; pushing them to dehumanize their fellow human beings under pretend "noble" causes that at the end of the day are cover for get rich/get famous schemes. I'll be exploring this stuff, its corrosive impact on
democracy, and its role in political polarization and hyperpartisanship in future research. Especially focused on techniques used by the campaign industry in the name of winning elections that drive people nuts.

Agree w @Mimirocah1 on @Morning_Joe it is WEIRD that Parnas doesn't have a cooperation agreement w the Southern district of NY. GIVEN he is implicating the sitting Attorney General, it looks, well suspicious. If what Parnas alleges about Barr's involvement in the Ukraine
Scandal is true, it is possible that Barr is putting pressure on SDNY to benefit himself. This is a MAJOR problem that requires massive media scrutiny. How can Barr continue to oversee investigations that apparently implicate him??? IS he exerting pressure on SDNY? At the very
least we need to hear from SDNY on this matter. Because as @Mimirocah1 is pointing out, he SHOULD have a cooperation agreement.

I'd like to tell you the R portion of the public will draw the line at the president's attorney putting a US Ambassador under illegal surveillance as part as their effort to remove her so they can conduct an illegal extortion & election

Managing #fear is no easier than managing #greed. Yet, we spend disproportionate time managing it. Rarely do we handle it well on our own. Being fearful and lonely is a very bad place to be in.

1/ 20 years ago today I fell in love with a weird, under-promoted cyberpunk kung fu movie called THE MATRIX. In celebration of this anniversary, here is a deep thread about the lore of #TheMatrix universe. Come along with me, and I’ll show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
2/ The seminal first film in the trilogy hints at a world that goes far deeper than what we see on screen. Its two sequels (and a plethora of tie-in content) deepen the surrounding universe hugely, but even these don’t tell the whole story.
3/ (Some of the lore is detailed fairly well in the Architect scene in RELOADED, but it's hard to parse the information inside the over-complicated dialogue. Oh btw, total spoilers for the franchise here.)

The latest spectacular achievement in propaganda is that the elite have trained every citizen to be propagandists on its behalf. Chomsky says that propaganda is to a democratic state what the bludgeon is to a totalitarian state. Weaponized communication is anti-democratic.
