Is there a Democratic nominee for president since Bill Clinton that the @NYTimes has not libeled with false scandals and accusations? Let's review:

@nytimes With Bill Clinton, there were a range of fake conspiracies and scandals. The big one, though, was a complete fabrication by NYTimes reporter Jeff Gerth. Whitewater was a failed land deal that cost the Clintons money. Savings & Loans cannot be shut down by the state,

Clinton's appointee did not have the authority to shutter Madison Guaranty but did urge the Feds to do so. She sent the information to Gerth two weeks before publication of his false story. But Whitewater began more scandals. Not to mention Travelgate, etc.

Al Gore did not claim he invented the internet, did not claim he discovered Love Canal, and was not a serial exaggerator. The students who heard Gore talk about Love Canal wrote to the paper to decry their lies. Maureen Dowd was among the worst of the libelists.

The NYTimes amplified the Swift Boating of John Kerry with the initial coverage by Jodo Wilgoren and then normalized it with repeated "both sides" articles. Here's the receipt on their legitimizing the false story

With Obama, the Times amplified the Rev Wright scandal, again legitimizing a partisan smear.

With Hillary, the Times pushed the email scandal and co-published the Clinton Cash bullshit with a deal with Breitbart author - a farrago of lies - all given NYTimes imprimatur

With Biden, the phony Ukraine conspiracy cooked up by Giuliani and Norman Solomon has gotten treated as a true by Ken Vogel.

Never forget, the NYTimes is only liberal on the surface.
