X : How do I get certified in mapping?
Me : You send me £1M and I'll send you a piece of paper with the following words written on it - "Simon says it's ok for me to draw lines on paper. I paid a £1M for this".
X : That's not very helpful.
Me : I prefer real world experience.
X : Certificates are useful in corporations.
Me : I much prefer competitive leagues. Think Battle Camp, talk to @simalexan
X : You could make a lot of money selling certificates.
Me : Just because you can make money from something, doesn't mean it's a good thing to do. Money != Good.
X : Why are you against certificates?
Me : Mapping is too young a field. It's only 15 years old. Once you create certificates then you also create inertia to change. People have loss aversion, if they've invested in something they don't want to see their investment decline.
