This rightly had a lot of attention last night. Now that everyone’s (hopefully) caught up on 😴 I wanted to thank some of those involved.

I, & everyone involved, is thrilled there was a happy ending. That’s as a direct result of a lot of work by a lot of people.

2/ This was, as I said yesterday, a challenging operation in difficult circumstances. The area we needed to search was large, very busy & it was after dark. Colleagues from all over @ThamesVP travelled to assist us in #NewportPagnell
3/ The #Community response was immense; so many members of the public offering help, searching, sharing our appeal. Someone even bought coffee for those out in the cold & dark. All of it helped.
4/ The #Volunteer response was extraordinary. @Northants_SAR @oxsar @LowlandRescue & I’m sure other SAR colleagues as well as @TVP_Specials - all volunteers who turned out on their Friday evening to help find a lost child.
5/ #999Family colleagues provided support, expertise & equipment: @Bucksfire @northantsfire @SCAS999 to support @ThamesVP colleagues with our search. #Police forces around the country assisted with our enquiries.
6/ @ThamesVP showed, again, that they will rise to be at their very best when events take a turn for the worse. @tvp_mk were supported by #Bucks & #Berks colleagues who travelled to assist.
7/ @JOU_ArmedPolice and @tvprp sent officers to help, and detective colleagues were working hard both on site and across the Force.
8/ Our #EyeInTheSky @NPASSouthEast @NPAShq help us to see what those on the ground can’t and were assisting us throughout the operation. Their capabilities are an invaluable asset.
9/ All of this is made possible by the superb @ThamesVP Control Room staff. They are consummate professionals: calm, able to juggle a multitude of tasks & requests from officers and keep clear communication channels at all times.
10/ Also, a hat tip to my #Communications colleagues and all others working in ‘back office’ type roles. You’re all very important cogs in a huge machine; if any of you aren’t there, the machine simply doesn’t work like it should.
11/ I must also mention @welcomebreak for being hugely accommodating of us and providing a place for our officers to rest & warm up, as well as enabling us to establish an impromptu command room on site.
12/ Last night everyone involved helped a family to be reunited. Everyone’s contributions were incredibly important & I’m both humbled and privileged to have been involved as Silver Commander.

My heartfelt thanks to you all. 💙

#Heroes every one of you.

#JobLikeNoOther
13/ I should also say: last night was an exceptionally large operation. However, similar #teamwork happens every day in @ThamesVP & around the country. Often it’s much smaller scale, but the parts played are equally impactful & important.
