📌 So. Telling me to move on will not work. This past week has been a watershed moment, a chance to re-evaluate what matters to me in leadership.

Bernie's theme is "Not Me, Us." Well I've seen too much crass behavior, double-standards and hate from too many of the people in that "Us" category and I've seen no big results from the "Me."

People told me shut up about Trump after the election. To give up on impeachment. To be quiet because it would hurt my career, would damage friendships, would alienate family members. But I didn't and I won't. Change the channel if you don't like this station.

Setting expectations. These Republican senators do not want a fair trial. But in the end, that’s OK. Here’s why

They were going to acquit anyway. Sure, I want the American people to see all of the evidence not rushed in in the midnight hours.

2/
But remember. These are the people who voted in Brett Kavanaugh to a lifetime position on the Supreme Court without a full investigation of the sexual assault allegations. Who did not have the FBI speak with Mark Judge. Who did not care to know who had paid off his debts.

I believe voters are looking for leadership to build us up and who acknowledge their own mistakes and grow. And leaders who attract followers who do not resemble members of a cult.

I wake up again to the erasure of #Bernie's POC and women supporters, and to the fiction that his voters are more toxic than those of other candidates.

When @leeladaou and I began supporting him, the venom we got from his haters was ugly.

@leeladaou Every personal attack we got in 2016 from #Bernie voters who we argued with in 2016 was replicated in 2019 by his opponents.

They mobbed and harassed us, impugned our motives and character with the EXACT same intensity as those they claim are "bros."

With one big difference...
@leeladaou When we reached out to #NotMeUs with an olive branch it was more than reciprocated.

The so-called "bros" we bitterly argued with in 2016 embraced us with open arms.

#Bernie's movement is principled and truly diverse. Erasing them all as "raging white males" is a travesty.

When I “officially” endorsed #Bernie2020, the campaign asked for a “short” statement for a graphic.

I'm wordy; wrote a whole page. Oops.🤓

It’s hard to distill why I believe so strongly in this #BigUS movement & @BernieSanders, but I’d like to share my attempt.

TRUST

Bernie’s stances are grounded in principled judgment, proven to be right & just for decades. His policies prove to be successful when enacted. I know who he'll be once elected.

#Bernie’s full platform - from #MedicareForAll to #CriminalJusticeReform - will have profound positive impacts on students, communities, and the ed profession, in both direct & indirect ways.

My team has been doing some perf work the past week or so and I'm going to share some pretty graphs! Because everyone loves pretty graphs. Except our execs who like up and to the right, so don't tell them.

Here's @deanward81 optimizing Teams Elastic. The CPU has dropped to 1-2%:
@deanward81 It hasn't *completely* eliminated search query times but most spikes are done and average search duration is down at ~20-40ms. I'll take it.
@deanward81 With @marcgravell: by only looking at question changes on sites that had activity since the last refresh, we can also greatly reduce the amount of loading our tag engine does for deltas. Forgive the reporting issues we solved, but overall: 40 seconds down to ~200ms to load now:

I understand why #YangGang and #Bernie supporters don't get along.

1) @AndrewYang trusts people, whereas @BernieSanders trusts institutions. This is vital. Hence the #FreedomDividend puts $$$ directly into people's hands but #FJG/$15 makes people go through institutions for $$$
2) Yang is inherently capitalist, Sanders is inherently socialist. People who support Sanders want to totally upend the system. Us #YangGang want capitalism to work for us.
3) Yang has spent his entire career in the private sector, as opposed to Bernie who only has (extensive) govt experience. So Yang looks at #FightFor15 and thinks "This can hurt small businesses" and Sanders discovers that its hard to run a business. cnbc.com/2019/07/25/for…
