From the day I decided to take responsibility and stop living for self, I inadvertently positioned myself for perpetual work for humanity in a classless space. What do I mean? Teachers have the luxury of having their students in classes & batches for evaluation. I don’t.
Coupled with the fact that we live in a clime where people are inflicted with short term memory losses and mostly willfully blind, you can imagine how often you will have to repeat yourself to get heard. So here I go again as said a decade ago. 👉🏽
A problem unattended have a propensity to become a crisis. Before I jump into the leadership problem, let me talk about the most critical problem based on the village of people affected. Please you are NOT created to go to school just to qualify to receive salaries.
Your journey to self discovery may entail an initial phase of SURVIVAL where you move from paycheck to paycheck but this is not a phase to pitch a tent in. You must understand the phases and overqualify yourself through hard work for the next position. You are no one’s slave!
On a job, each passing day must be taken as the days spent in classes towards graduation. You didn’t go to school to graduate but to become. You’re educated just to trigger the ability to think independently. Everyone is naturally qualified from your set but we employ uniqueness.
There comes a point in the life of every youth where you attain a state of security. A point where you either resign or get an epiphany after losing your comfort (job) to find your uniqueness enough to secure the payment of your bills & begin planning for a bigger purpose.
The poor people of the 21st century have cars, a job and live in good houses, with debts hounding them, while they pose for the camera to oppress their assumed enemies, with their definition of success on Instagram. This is despite their lack of fulfillment & direction.
SECURE individuals are the ones that spend time to ruminate over issues and think out of the box. They are the innovators of now focusing on how to proffer solutions to problems other people normalize irresponsibly. Their bills will be paid even if they don’t leave their bed.
These are thinkers and innovators of repute who passionately give their all to all they touch. They don’t think about money or the “what’s in it for me” cliche common among mercantilistic slaves to paper money. They are always ready to serve & the world owes them more than ever.
Even at that level there comes a time when such folks upgrade. Once their works and impact begins to manifest they become Successful in accomplishing their wildest dreams. They no longer live in the gap but in the choicest of dreams. They gain the access to anything they want.
A few may choose to be conservative at the point of success by living for others and plowing back their gains into social work but most may choose to live abundantly. This depends on the environment people find themselves in & emotional intelligence dictates their expression.
A successful man makes a statement in all that they do. They have a brand that speaks to excellence and they live responsibly having known how far they’ve come in life journey and the ephemeral state of life. They are investors and believers of dreams & they nurture it.
The last stage in this journey is simply tagged Significance. A man living a significant life will not be egotistic or concerned about the self but about his community, society and country. They are investors in humanities. They care and show love to people they know not.
They give not because of what they stand to get back but because of how fulfilled it makes them feel. This is how sustainable legacies are built and how a few that walked the earth left an indelible mark in history and on the sands of time. They are the stoics we once studied.
They are advocates of social Good. They are committed souls to Justice, Equity and Fairness. They are different from leaders of lands and people who are mostly consumed by avarice and lust for money and power. They minister to hearts and minds in words and deeds. They are real.
So Distinguished choose te this day whom you have chosen to be & what you would want to be remembered for. Will you be the fellow who died on the job? Will you be the hustler who ran after money until death knocks on the door leaving behind debts? Or will you manifest in purpose?
Which stage are you now? Are you ready to move from your comfort zone? #YouAreEnough ⏰

Not everyone you find in a big car or big house or with expensive things are successful. Majority are still surviving & the lack of fulfillment despite the junks they acquire is what is making most put up appearances for validation. Your politicians are in survival mode too.
Pastors living large on the money of the congregation without accountability, public officers oppressing others with their position are not secure but simply surviving. Success is never a destination but a phase in the journey. It is different from fortune. It is deliberate.
Genuinely successful people are responsible. They don’t need to show cash or display opulence to prove they are a SUCCESS. Their ideas and commitment to humanities prove this. You can tell from their selflessness despite their wealth how caring they are to the cause of others.
SUCCESSFUL people don’t intimidate others. They are secure enough to create platforms that serve as a springboard to others to rise from Survival mode to where they are. When successful people lead their spirit of excellence rubs off on everyone without exception.
Corrupt folks you see today are not Successful no matter what they buy with illicit funds. They cling unto power to secure the right to fleece. They are forever paranoid because they know how unsustainable their position is. This is why they impoverish others to stay on top.
People who always believe life is a competition and everybody is out to get them are pitching a tent at survival mode. Secure, Successful and people living significantly don’t see themselves ahead in life. They see fellow compatriots and people they share humanity with.
They make the right connection & ask what they can do to reinforce the life goals of others. They are not needy neither do they see everyone with means as an ATM machine they can always make demands on. They bring value you can hardly quantify or pay for. They also reflect hope.
