Microbial resistance is a core principle in the rise of this problem, and as such ALL HCP'S have a responsibility to inform and support people to make the best choices for their health #AllOurHealth
When we take antibiotics they fight the infection and bacteria they encounter however those which are resistant to the antibiotic remain. These will multiply exponentially over time, leaving just the resistant bacteria. #AllOurHealth
On a national level, the NHS and PHE have launched a 5 year plan to counter it, incorporating a 20 year vision of public health.
Globally the WHO are increasing activism on the topic and have named it a key health priority #AllOurHealth
The NHS and PHE also commissioned a catchy advert as pat of their national commitment to spreading the message on antibiotic use. This is has been broadcast on British TV since September 2019

All HCP's have a role to play and interventions don't need to be complicated we can:
- Encourage patients to engage with vaccination programmes
- Be pro-active in infection prevention
- Engage in handwashing
- follow local procedures and pathways
#AllOurHealth
Remember Make Every Contact Count (MECC) and together we can help reduce the overuse of Antibiotics and engage patients to realise they have a vitalrole in helping fight antimicrobial resistance. #AllOurHealth
