[THREAD] Last month I started a Telegram group around what I firmly believe will be the next huge #DeFi trend: undercollaterization.

Here are my takeaways and pieces from the brilliant people who took part in the discussion:
First, context. DeFi only leverages overcollaterization because it’s the easiest enforcement: you can be 100% sure one will repay risky/volatile positions (smart contract risk aside)

But the world isn’t made of rich Compound whales. Actually, undercollaterization is everywhere.
Whether it’s social credit rating, or fractional reserve banking, loans, it’s all undercollateralized.

Yes, it’s prone to mistakes, but this time we can make it *transparent* and permissionless (which means more liquid for everyone). It’s healthier

I've given feedback on 3 grad school research statements so far this fall. I do this every year for folks in my fields, and every year, I see really similar patterns! Here are a few of them:
Good paragraphs but bad/no overall flow. I tend to think that an application is all about showing exactly why you're a great fit for a program. So every experience is a step in the story of "...and that brings us to right now, me perfectly set up to succeed in this program!"
When people aren't used to writing about their own work experience it often feels very disjointed, big blocks of paragraphs describing separate jobs and no helpful linkage. Make your points explicit: THIS set me up to be a scientist, THIS taught me THIS skill...!

Here’s the plan for me: I’m planning on making this my full time job for the time being and delivering content directly to the world via Twitter and a blog. I’ve applied to @PremoSocial, where I plan to set up an account for $3/month wherein subscribers get more info/analysis.
News and articles will still be posted here. If you subscribe to Premo Social (assuming I get approved) you will get direct access to me via DM, source documents for my stories, extra analysis, a weekly Q and A, and more.
I might even make it $2/month to make it more doable. I love doing this research but I also need to feed myself. Very open to suggestions for what else I can offer Premo subscribers.
