You ever reflect on random experiences that medicine has allowed you to bear witness to & think, this is wild?

A mother meeting her baby after a c/s. Abdominal muscles open to the air in the OR rising and falling with each breath. A father's tears after hearing his son is dying.
A family's preparations before their loved one is discharged to hospice. Eating cake and tacos in the family room to celebrate a chronic patient's birthday. Dancing with the team to "Shake it off" at your patient's demands. Watching a patient process a new diagnosis or change.
Being in the room where transplant decisions are made. Holding an anxious child's hand until their family arrives. Dancing or cracking jokes to get thru scary times. Crying tears of joy, happiness, or I can't even articulate why.

I'm honored by the opp to be there for them
