Mary Louise Kelly worked as a foreign correspondent for the BBC, covering stories in Kosovo, the Afghan-Pakistan border, and Germany. She has a masters in European Studies from Cambridge and covered the Pentagon beat for almost 10 years. Pompeo is unfit for office.
Mike Pompeo works for Mary Louise Kelly and the American public for whom she reports. She probably has greater knowledge and insight about foreign affairs than Mike Pompeo. No public official should be allowed to act like this with impunity.
Don't be fooled. Mike Pompeo's stunt has two purposes. 1) To distract from the fact that he has no defensible explanation for what he allowed to happen to his colleague, Marie Yovanovich.
2) To further the long-running GOP attack on NPR and other legitimate news outlets.

Their contradicting "facts" consisted of a supposedly proposed meeting that never happened in Poland on Sept. 1? Their argument is "our opposition's case was so long and booooooring." Is this real life?
They did manage to smuggle in disinformation about Ukraine tho, so points for that.

1/ My thread on #GOP defense of #Trump: General defense amounts to 2 arguments: 1. #Trump was genuinely concerned about #corruption in #Ukraine; 2) not enough evidence to #impeach. We have no evidence on the first & evidence to the contrary. Legally, there’s enough evidence.
2/ The strongest args #GOP makes - #Trump not caught on tape saying he was abusing his office for his personal gain. Ukraine history of corruption & publicly denied pressure. But you have to suspend reason & ignore a boatload of evidence to conclude he did nothing impeachable.
3/ #GOP on 7/25 call -#Trump didn’t reference reelection, Ukrainians happy it happened. #Volker didn’t see problem, NSC not complaining. Discounts #LtColVindman. Ignores #Pence aide thought it was “unusual” & #LauraCooper said Ukraine asked abt aid status same day after the call

2 Let's be mindful of goal: to counteract shocking pix from last 2 urgent @DHSOIG (random) inspection visual reports, the @HispanicCaucus pix from Clint, & #BorderPatrol FB scandal. Paradoxically, aim is to show previous scenes inaccurate, yet still "tough stuff" (& blame Dems).
3 One of goals of @VP trip was to insulate/defend #BorderPatrol from reports about its almost 10k member private racially/sexually toxic FB group. Did address this in context of border visit day before in San Diego in response to q's. Via @joshdawsey @washingtonpost pool report.
